What Oasis Provides

Oasis Housing provides transitional and permanent housing for high-risk adults living with mental illness. Our homes are safe, supportive, and caring places where residents can receive help with daily living needs, build community, and experience a place they can call home.

At Oasis, residents don't just find housing—they find a community of friends, and a place to feel safe, supported, and truly at home.

Safe, Supportive, Quality Housing

Safe, Supportive, Quality Housing

Safety is the first priority at Oasis Housing. Oasis provides safe, supportive homes where residents can live with greater security, consistency, and peace of mind and feel safer to residents. Stable housing creates a foundation for improved well-being, healthier routines, and stronger daily support.

Transitional and Permanent Housing

Transitional and Permanent Housing

Oasis Housing offers both transitional and permanent housing options based on individual needs. Residents receive compassionate support in stable living environments designed to encourage long-term stability, safety, and personal growth.

Support with Daily Living Needs

Support with Daily Living Needs

Residents receive support with important daily living tasks that help encourage stability, confidence, and independence. Assistance is provided with care, respect, and attention to each individual’s unique needs and goals.

Whenever possible, residents have choices about things that affect their lives, including their schedule, roommates, and what they would like to eat. These simple choices are important ways to support independence and personal dignity.

Family-Style Environment

Working Toward a Better Future Now

Working Toward a Better Future Now

Oasis is working toward a better future by providing housing and support today while planning for expanded supportive housing through the Vision Project. The Vision Project will allow Oasis to serve many more people, including families with children impacted by the mental illness of their caregiver.

Why Supportive Housing Matters

Mental illness is often isolating. Everyone has the desire to belong somewhere, to have friends, and to be acknowledged. Having a roof over oneʼs head is essential yet that alone is not enough for those who have greater needs. Support in the form of help with
managing medication, daily living needs, and home maintenance and some supervision and skill building is essential for successful life in the community.

Oasis Housingʼs model of supportive housing is to have small enough numbers of residents to keep it family style and allow individuality and personal connections. Small numbers help residents feel support, community, and dignity in a place they can truly
call home.

Independence

Oasis Housing encourages residents to build confidence, strengthen life skills, and work toward greater independence. Support is tailored to help individuals make safe choices and achieve personal goals.

Quality of Life

A safe home, meaningful relationships, and compassionate support can greatly improve quality of life. Oasis Housing works to create comfortable living environments where residents feel respected and cared for.

Community and Belonging

Community connection is an important part of life at Oasis Housing. Residents are encouraged to build friendships, participate in shared experiences, and enjoy a welcoming environment where they truly belong.

Caring

Oasis residents are cared about. They also have the opportunity to care about things outside of themselves and their illness. Friendships with housemates and trust in empathetic staff form connections. The strong philosophy of caring extends to animals and nature. Taking care of animals is an opportunity to have responsibilities that move from passivity and lethargy to positive action. Oasis animals include chickens, parakeets and fish at the menʼs home and dogs, fish, a canary and community cats at the womenʼs house. Care of plants in the yard allows them to spend time outdoors and focus on what plants need to flourish.

The Difference Supportive Housing Makes

Stability

Stable housing helps residents build healthier routines, safer choices, and long-term support.

Belonging

Oasis gives each person a caring place to belong, a community of friends, and a place to call home.

Hope

At Oasis, we plant and nurture seeds of hope—hope that residents can manage their illness, have things to look forward to, and live their best life.
